Birmingham Hip Replacement Recall Disclaimer

Due to a recent press release from Smith & Nephew, as reported in various parts of the media (the BBC, The Independent, the Financial Times, etc.), with regard to the recall of a number of Birmingham Hip Replacement products as a consequence of “a packaging error at a sub-contractor” LPE Medical wish to advise all concerned that this “error” is in no way related to the supply of sterile implants to Smith & Nephew from LPE Medical Ltd.

This can be confirmed by way of the release from Smith & Nephew to LPE Medical.

LPE Medical Ltd. can assure all current and future customers that robust procedures and specifications, along with stringent routine auditing procedures, are in place in order to eliminate the risk of these types of adverse incidents.
